Chicken sales
Last week I posted this flyer at my local feed store, with a few
tear-off slips with my phone number. When prospective chicken owners
tell me that 25 chicks is too many, they only want three or four for
their family, I usually suggest they put up a flyer at a local feed
store to sell the chicks they don't need.
My new pullets were too crowded in the chicken barn and had begun
to fight for their nightly roosting space. It was time to do something.
I took a couple of the photos I'd taken for this web site and printed
out a one-page sales flyer. My husband took it to the feed store and
stapled it to their bulletin board. Before he had finished, the first
slip was torn off.
We got the first phone call and those young hens were sold within
an hour. I think maybe I could have asked for $10 each and they still
would have sold.
The feed store folks laughed when we called them and asked them to
take the ad down. This method really works -- no foolin'!
Feel free to download and use my flyer if you want to, just add your
phone number to the bottom.
Cheers for chickens!
